chlorophyll - the molecule in green plants that absorbs mostly ultraviolet (and also some blue violet, and red light) and uses this energy for photosynthesis.

climate - the average or typical weather patterns or variations in a region over a period of years.

crest - the point of the highest amount of energy in a wave; the peak.
